Kwanza constituency sits between Kitale town to the South, Endebess constituency to the West and Kapenguria town to the East. The administrative centre of the Constituency is found in Kwanza market, and has different offices including the Deputy County Commissioner’s office, Police Station with an Officer Commanding Police Division, Sub-county administrative offices, a Sub-county hospital and other facilities.
The main economic activity practiced in the constituency is farming with maize farming as the main cash crop. Other crops grown are beans, sugarcane and different types of fruits. Maize forms the staple food for the constituency.
On the other hand, chicken, cattle, sheep and goats are the main animals reared by over 60% of the population. Trading activities also take place with main trading centers being Namanjalala, Kwanza, Maridadi, Kapkoi, Kolongolo and Mailisaba markets.
The only industries found in the constituency are KCC Factory, the Kitale Maize Millers which produces Unga and Western Seed Company. Both companies are in Bidii Ward and a few Jua Kali workshops in different market places in the constituency.
